The Sword In the Stone:


Arthur, or as many call him the wart, is a scrawny boy that dreams of becoming a squire. In the beginning of the movie he was walking with his wicked brother Kay. Kay was hunting and the wart was just there helping. But when Kay messes up and accidentally shoots the arrow into the dark forest he sends the wart to go get it. While in the forest the wart falls threw the roof of the greatest wizard of all time, Merlin. Merlin and his highly educated owl Archimedes, take the wart back to the castle and they agree to be his schoolteacher. Merlin teaches the wart important things like reading and writing, but also magically transform him into different animals to teach him the meaning of life. One day Merlin transforms the wart into a bird and the wart flies into Madam Mim’s window. Madam Mim is an evil witch who wants to destroy the wart. Luckily Merlin gets there in the nick of time and Madam Mim challenges him to a wizards duel. When Merlin gets caught, he outwits this evil witch and turns him self into a virus and makes Madam Mim sick. When they return to the castle the wart’s dream comes true and he becomes Kay’s squire. Kay is going to enter the New Year’s Day tournament and the winner becomes the king of England. Right before Kay takes his turn the wart realizes that he forgot Kay’s sword and pulls a sword from the stone. Little does he know that whoever pulls the sword from the stone becomes the king. At the end of the movie he becomes king all of England. This movie has been nominated for the 1964 Oscars for best music and scored music.
