1. Home Plate: Home plate is where the catcher stands (a little behind it) and is where every play begins. The pitcher pitches it, a hitter hits it, and runs to first base or an assortment of other ways.
2. First Base: First base is the first or only base a hitter will go to if he hits the baseball. If the hitter hits the ball he will first go to first base which is the first base on the right. If he stops there, it is called a single, unless there is an error. First base is where the first basemen is. It is better to have a lefty first basemen because he doesn't have to pivot to make a throw to a base. He doesn't stand on the base, he stands by the base. If a ball goes to him and no one is on base, he just steps on first base.
3. Second Base: Second base is obviously the second base. It is where most of the stolen bases take place and is where the second basemen is. He is like a partner to the shortstop. The shortstop is in between the second and third base. He takes charge of the field. If he tells someone to get the ball, that person will get the ball, no questions asked.
4. Third Base: Third base is the last base before home plate. It is where the third basemen is and is called the hot corner. It is called the hot corner because most of the hitters are right handed and they pull the ball most of the time. It is better to have a righty third basemen because then he doesn't have to pivot to throw to a base. He is opposite of the first basemen.
5. Left Field: Left Field is where the left fielder is. He is just like the right fielder but doesn't have as strong of an arm as the right fielder does.
6. Center Field: The center fielder is there. He is by far the fastest outfielder and has the most range. He normally has a pretty good arm.
7. Right Field: Is where the right fielder is. He should have the strongest arm in the out field because he makes the most throws home. He normally has a pretty average speed but has a good jump on the ball.
