1) There are 25 people on a team, but only nine of them are playing the field (defense) at once.
2) The nine positions are Pitcher, Catcher, 1st basemen, 2nd basemen, 3rd basemen, Shortstop, Left Fielder, Center Fielder, and Right Fielder.

7) A strike is called when the batter swings and misses, or the ball is thrown in the strike zone, and the batter doesn't swing. A ball is called when the ball is thrown away from the strike zone, and the batter does not swing.
