How to Make Wampum

 

      Materials you Need:

·        a box of Ditalini

·        red and blue food dye

·        rubbing alcohol or vinegar

·        empty coffee can to dye them in

·        strips of wood or cardboard

·        paper towels

·        a strainer or colander

 

bulletPour about half of a box of Ditalini noodles into the coffee can. 
bulletCover the pasta with rubbing alcohol or vinegar and add red and blue food coloring to dye the pasta purple.
bulletStrain the pasta and let it drain on paper towels until completely dry.
bulletWe separated the beige and purple pasta into separate cups.
bulletThen we created geometric designs on grid paper.
bulletWe glue the pasta on the wood or cardboard following the design on the grid paper.
