Food storage

Native American women spent most of their time preparing food. What they did first to make corn is they scraped it with a deer jaw. Then they pounded it and after that they cooked it or boiled it. Another way they prepared food is they huge the fish over the fire to dry. Clay pots to us for corn to boil or cook corn. Some of the women cooked in longhouses or outdoors using trenches.

The bows and arrows killed animals like black bears, elk, deer, rabbit and wolves. The nets trapped wild turkeys, geese, ducks, herons, pigeons and partridges. Female animals were not hunted when they are having a baby. To make a snare a young tree was bent down and attached to the ground with a loop to make a snare. The animal's hind leg is caught in the snare.
They would herd the fish into a trap. Another way to catch fish is to trap them in nets. They even go out at night to catch fish with torches to attract the fish to the trap.
