Indian Captive: Mary Jemison

Mary Jemison was brave when she was taken away from her family and she didn’t even cry. She had to live with the Native Americans and learn their ways. She made new friends and was given a new name, Corn-Tassel, because of her yellow hair. She became part of a Seneca family. While learning to be a Native American she got scolded many times but soon learned to fit in. I would recommend Indian Captive: The Story of Mary Jemison to anyone who wants to know about the Native Americans ways or to those who just like adventure stories.

This is a picture from the book when she was getting scolded by her Native Americans sister.
