The King has died. Everyone is sad. What happens next? The body is dipped in brine, to preserve it, so when its spirit comes back it can recognize the body and relive. The Egyptians believed in the afterlife. They took out the eyes, and replaced them with lynen. They removed many organs. The stomach of the dead one was cut open. They left their heart in. They got a wire and a spoon, and scooped the brain out through the nose! They left the body out in the desert for about a month, wrapped it with bandages, and placed it in the mummy case.
