The oldest ancient Egyptians were about 5,000 years ago. Most ancient Egyptians lived by the Nile River.

The father of the family was the head. If the father dies, the oldest son will be the head leader. Also the women had almost the same rights as the men's.

Most of the Egyptians enjoyed eating fruits,vegetables, fish, cheese, milk, butter, and meat. The meat is from ducks, geese, beef, antelope, and gazelle. There favorite drink is beer. Also they have grape, date, and palm wine to drink. They also eat fancy cakes and good baked sweets.

  The men wore robes and skirts. The women wore robes and tight dresses. The young kids wore nothing.
