The Awake of Killer Mount Unzen
After a two hundred year slumber Mount Unzen of Japan awoke. It produced a new lava dome at its summit. In the beginning of June repeatedly this active dome generated destructive ash. This swept down its slopes at high speed of 200 kilometers per hour. The country's worst volcanic disaster was in Japan in 1792. It killed more than 15,000 people! Unzen is only one of 75 active volcanoes in Japan.
