Acatenango's twin, Fuego
Mt. Fuego is one of Central America’s most active volcanoes that overlooks Guatemala’s former capital, Antigua. Mt. Acatenango, which we are also doing, is actually the twin volcano. It towers more than 3,500 meters above the Pacific Coastal Plain. It is part of the Fuego- Acatenango massif, which includes Ancient Acatenango, Yepocapa, Pico Mayor de Acatenango, Meseta, and Fuego. Fuego and Acatenango include a string of five or more volcanic vents. In the historical time, Fuego has erupted more than 60 times
