LISA LESLIE

 

      

           Lisa Leslie plays for the Sparks. Her birthday is July 7th, 1972. She is 6'5 in  height, and 170 lbs. in weight.  She went to U.S.C. and graduated with the class of 1994. She was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the WNBA championship and an All-Star in 2002.  She was apart of the gold medalist Olympic teams in 1996 and 2000. In 2002 she also helped get another gold medal for the USA team.

    Leslie was the first women to make a dunk in a professional game. It was on a Tuesday night while Leslie was playing for the Los Angeles Sparks. Her friends didn't believe that she could accomplish her goals in basketball, so when she became the first women to make a professional dunk, her friends had higher respect for her. She received a nickname from her younger sister after she made the dunk. Her nickname was "Dunkin."

     She was one of the first six members of  2002's USA basketball world championship. She has gotten many honors, medals, and awards. We hope to hear more and see more of Lisa Leslie soon.
