Saiga Antelope

  Over the last decade there has been a major decline in population as a result of poaching for meat and for expor of horns for Chinese traditional medicine.

• Interesting Feature: The Saiga Antelope has many interesting features, but its best feature would be its massive nose. It looks like as if it used to have a trunk like an elephant that has been pushed in, almost all the way. They use their large nose to filter out dust and other things. There coat is a milky, golden tan at the top, but as you look down it turns white. It has small black split hooves. Their coat grows about 8-10 inches longer during the winter.
