Eastern Cape Rocky
- Scientific name: Sandelia bainsii.
- Lifespan: Unknown.
- Diet: The Eastern Cape Rocky feeds on small fish ,crabs and invertebrates.
- Habitat: These fish like rocky areas so they can wedge themselves in between the rocks.They do this for hunting.They will wait till there prey swims in front of them and then they attack.
- Description: Their length is 325mm when born they are 3mm long. It is an ash grey color, and it has a fringed looking fins.
- Breeding: Breeding takes place during the months of October through Febuary.The female will lay up to 7000 egg. The male will then protect the eggs against anthing, even the mother.When they hatch they are only 3mm long but grow.
- Reason for Rarity: Their loss of habitat and alien fish have been introduced to there habitat.
- Interesting fact: After 20 years of absence the fish reappeared but now it is almost extict again.
