Project 1. Origami Prairie Dog
Utensils: Scissors, computer printer, and tape
Directions:
1. THE PRAIRIE DOG'S HEAD
a: Print out the prairie dog's
head below by clicking on the
picture.
Cut on the full line and follow these
directions.
b: Fold the piece of paper in half diagonally above the face.
c: Fold
the two white corners backwards
on either side of the
face to form a point at the top of the face.
d: Then fold up on the dotted line
closest to the face. Repeat
this process on the other side of the face.
e: Finally, fold on the other dotted line
creating an ear-flap
over the face. Repeat this process for the
other ear.
2. THE PRAIRIE DOG'S BODY
a: First print out the body of the prairie dog by clicking on the picture.
b: Next fold
diagonally on dotted line 1 so that the numbers are on the inside. Then open it up so it looks like a diamond and the crease is
vertical. Then, with the numbers at the bottom, fold the bottom corner of the diamond backwards
from the point
(on line 2).This will be the tail.
c: Then fold the paper back
into its original diagonal form with numbers on the inside, but keep the corner the way it was folded. Grab
on the tail and pull out so that it folds on dotted line 3.
d: Tape the head on the top point of the body.
Now you are finished making your prairie dog.
