THE JAPANESE FLAG
Japan is a country made of many islands. Almost all of the Japanese live on four islands. These islands are: Kyasha, Shikoku, Honshu, and Hottaido. There are also over 3000 smaller islands that make up Japan. Japan is part of Asia which is the world largest continent. Almost 124million people live in Japan. The capital of Japan is Tokyo.
Japan is very small, but it still has mountains, rivers, and coasts. Most of the land there is covered with high mountains. The most famous mountain is called Mount Fuji. Japan is also made up of many rivers. They are usually short and deep. The longest river that Japan has is the Shinano River, it is 228 miles long.
Japan has more than fifty volcanoes. Japan has over 1,500 earthquakes every year. Most of the earthquakes are small, so there's not a lot of damage. The worst one that they had was in 1923. Japan also has typhoons. The typhoons bring strong winds, and a lot of rain. When typhoons hit Japan it usually causes a good amount of damage. Most people who live there have paper walls. That helps keep the amount of damage down by the earthquakes.
Tokyo is not just the capitol of Japan, it is also one of the biggest cities. There are about 12 million people who live and also has jobs in Tokyo. Government, banking, and international trade all take place in the center of Tokyo. In the center of Tokyo is where the Imperial Palace is. The Emperor and its family live there. There are roads that go around the palace in maze. That makes it more hard for someone to rob the palace.
In Japan rice is the most important food they eat. In every meal they have tea for their beverage. Teahouses are located in every town and city. Japanese people also eat pork, beef, and chicken. They also eat vegetables which are cabbage, potatoes, onions, and tomatoes. People who live in Japan like there food as fresh as possible, they also don't like canned or frozen food.
Kids in Japan go to school for nine years. They start school at 8:30 in the morning, and it ends at 4:30 in the afternoon. Each class has about 50 students in it. Every student wears a uniform. For students to get into a university or a college they have to take and pass a very difficult test.
In Japan today, most people work in factories. Each factory has about twenty employers. Once you join a company you usually don't leave. Most workers are treated very well. A large company provides a house, school, and medical services for their employees. There are always new products that are developed everyday. Japanese products are made with high quality and are reliable for usage.
If you were to visit Japan you would have many places to visit such as Hiroshima, Imperial Palace, Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kabuki theater, and Gold Pavilion in Kyoto. The fastest way to get around to see all these places is to ride on the Bullet Train, Japan Air Lines, or by car. If you travel by car just remember that the roads are very crowded.
