Mrs. Markowitz was born in Brooklyn and grew up in the Bronx. She has been a teacher for 16 years, and has taught at Lincoln-Titus Elementary School for five years.

This is her second time coaching a ThinkQuest team.
She has enjoyed learning about how amphibious vehicles helped to win World War II. She hadn't realized how important they were at that time. She is making summer travel plans to ride a DUKW.

Mrs. Markowitz likes to hike, bike, and build dollhouses in her spare time. Her favorite place in the world is Acadia National Park in Maine.
