Relaxation

Relaxing is good for controlling anger because it puts you in a different state of mind. Then you will be able to deal with the situation.

  • Count to 10. Sometimes giving yourself time to cool down will help the situation.
  • Breathe deeply and slowly. Be sure your breath comes from your diaphragm, not your chest.
  • Try to imagine a place where you are comfortable like your room, a soft couch, or a hammock where you can lay down and read a book or take a nap to calm you down and forget about your anger. Try using slow movements to relax your muscles.
  • Excercise.
  • Listen to Music.
