Loch Ness Monster

Loch Ness is a large lake in northern Scotland. It is surrounded by rolling green hills and a century-old mystery.

The first modern reports of the Loch Ness Monster( believed to be an underwater sea creature) came in the 1930s, and scientists wanted to solve the mystery right away. But the mystery of Loch Ness Lake remains the same and the Loch Ness Monster is still unidentified. Small water vessels with sonar rays attached try to find the creature, but none have succeeded. A scientist named Robert Rines has made an underwater camera that has managed to take a picture of something but they don't know whether it is the Loch Ness Monster or not. Scottish folklore is full of stories of mischievous water spirits called "Kelpies".

Kelpies are mythological monsters that are said to eat people. People think kelpies are related to the Loch Ness Monster in a way.

Dan Taylor has developed a submersible specialized for the depths of Loch Ness Lake. It has special cameras to see into the loch's murky depths. The loch is 4 mi. lenghtwise and can reach 1 1/2 mi. in width. At some places it is 4 mi. deep. That's a lot of water to search for such a reclusive creature.
