Rules and Positions

Rules

The main rule of soccer is that you can not use your hands. The only time you can use your hands if the goal keeper is in the goal box as seen below. The other way you can use your hands is when you throw the ball in from the sideline because the ball went out of bounds. The object of the game is to get the ball into the other team's goal. The other rules of the game are offside, and fouling, which includes pushing, slide tackling, and fighting. After a foul happens either the other team gets a free kick or you get a yellow card or red card. If somebody gets hurt or injured there will be a drop ball, which is when the referee drops the ball between two players, and the players can not touch the ball until it hits the ground.

Positions

Teams can position their players in a numerous amount of ways. Some of the most popular for example are: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-6-1, and 3-5-2. Teams can play from nine to eleven players on the field at once. The different positions are: goal keepers, defenders, mid fielders, and forwards
