This is one of the problems that Fibonacci
solved.
How many pairs of rabbits would you have in one year if you started with one youngster pair of rabbits, and each adult rabbit pair gave birth to a baby pair of rabbits every month? All pairs would produce/reproduce from the second month on. Assume that no rabbits would die.
Using the chart below you will see that the sequence starts 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, .... You will also see that the next months total is the sum of the two previous months.
