Solve This!
Hi, Im Leonhard Euler and Im here to tell you a little about myself and the things that I studied in the world of math. I was born near Basel, Switzerland in 1707 (one year earlier than Benjamin Franklin). During my time math was very popular, and there were mathematicians such as Johann Bernoulli who became my math tutor when I was 7 years old. I became interested in math and completed my Masters Degree in Philosophy in 1723.
After that I became interested in the Königsberg Bridge problem so I invented the Network Theory to help solve the problem. I also did work with polyhedra and discovered several patterns with these 3-D shapes, such as the Euler number.
I
was married twice and had 13 children, 5 of which survived. Of course with so
many children around me I had to train my mind so that I could concentrate on
my work. Every year I wrote about 800 pages of my math discoveries over 60 years.
I began to suffer from loss of eyesight in 1738. When I became toatally blind
I didnt think it a loss but just considered it as one less distraction.
