Acromantula: The acromantula is an incredibly large eight-eyed spider with venomous fangs. It makes a clicking sound when it is excited or angry, and it spins an enormous dome web to catch its prey.
Basilisk: The basilisk is a brilliant green serpent that can reach up to sixty feet long. A person who looks directly at the basilisk will suffer an instant death, but a person who sees the basilisk's reflection from a mirror will get petrified.
Blast Ended Screwt: The blast ended screwt can reach up to six feet long. The males can make their backside blow-up. The females have suckers under their body for sucking blood. Both the female and the male have stingers on their backsides. After a period of time a hard coat forms along the top of the screwt's body.
Bogart: A bogart is a shape shifter. It will take form of the one thing a person is most afraid of. If there is a group of people then the bogart will not know what to turn into and become confused.
Centaur: The centaur has the head, torso, and arms of a human joined to a horse's body. It has its own way of hiding from muggles without wizard help. The centaur is skilled in magical healing, divination, archery, and astronomy.
Dementor: A dementor is a lifeless and souless creature. It can't see but has a great sense of smell. When it enters a room full of light, the light goes out and the room is full of darkness. Dementors can suck the souls out of humans by clamping their jaw around the human's mouth and sucking. That is called the Dementor's Kiss.
Flobberworm: A flobberworm has no teeth. It eats lettuce and other edible plants. These worms need help being fed and don't live very long.
Gnome: Gnomes are garden dwelling animals. The only way to get them out of a garden is to make them dizzy and then throw them beyond the garden fence. Hermione's cat, Crookshanks, likes to chase them.
Grindylow: A grindylow is a water demon that lives in seaweed clumps. It has long claws, webbed feet, and small horns on its head. When it grabs something with its claws, it has a very strong grip.
Hingcypunk: Hingcypunks are one legged, two armed, plump creatures. They have no body; the arms and leg come out of the head. They live in swamps and carry little lanterns. These creatures lure travelers into the swamps with their lamps.
Hippogriff: The hippogriff is a creature with the head, talons, and front half of an eagle and the back half, tail, and legs of a horse. Hippogriffs are easily offended and when offended will strike with their talons. Experts must handle them.
House Elf: House elves are found in castles and mansions. They serve one family unless they are freed. The only way to free a house elf is for its master to give it clothes. House elves wear tea towels for clothes.
Leprechaun: A leprechaun is a little man that floats in the air. Leprechauns carry leprechaun gold which is gold that disappears after one hour. They live in Ireland, of course.
Mandrake: A mandrake is a creature attached to a plant. Its real name is Mandagora. A mandrake has a piercing scream that can kill a person.
Merpeople: A merperson is part human, part fish. Merpeople are very ugly and have silverish hair. They have their own language, can't speak above water, and carry spears around. Merpeople keep grindylows as pets.
Niffler: Nifflers are black furry creatures which are attracted to gold. They accompany goblins when they are looking for gold. Nifflers can be very destructive so they aren't good house pets.
Phoenix: The phoenix is a magnificent bird. It has reddish colored feathers and is capable of carrying massive amounts of weight. Phoenix tears are used to heal wounds or cuts.
Pixie: Pixies are electric blue creatures that delight in playing tricks and practical jokes. They also like grabbing people by the ears and depositing them in tall trees or on tall buildings.
Red Cap: Red caps live in any place where there is bloodshed. They look like little dwarves and are easy to repel with charms and hexes. They are very dangerous to Muggles.
Sphinx: The sphinx has the head of a woman but the body of a lion. The sphinx likes riddles. The sphinx guards valuable treasures and is dangerous when what it is guarding is threatened.
Troll: The troll is a very stupid and ugly creature. It can grow to be 12 feet tall and weigh over a ton. It is very violent and unpredictable. There are three different types of trolls: mountain trolls, forest trolls, and river trolls.
Unicorn: The unicorn is a magnificently beautiful creature. It looks like a horse with a horn on its head. It is very fast and hard to catch. The unicorn is white until age two when it turns silver. It also has silver blood. Unicorn blood can keep someone alive even if he is about to die. However, once a person's lips touch the blood, that person lives a cursed life from that moment on. Unicorns prefer witches to wizards.
Veela: A veela is a beautiful woman with silver hair. When a veela is offended she turns into an extremely ugly bird that throws fireballs. Veelas have love charms that they can put on boys.
Werewolf: A werewolf is a human that turns into a wolf during a full moon. This transformation is very painful for the person. A person becomes a werewolf when he is bitten by another werewolf. There is no known cure for the bite. However, the wolfsbane potion can help make a werewolf harmless.
