The Witches, starts out with a little boy whose parents are killed in a car accident. He then has to live with his grandmother. The boy's grandmother used to work with people that tried to eliminate witches. In that job she learned a lot about witches so she tells the boy all about them.

One summer holiday the boy and his grandmother go to a hotel. The boy took his pet mice with him on his holiday. One day he took his mice to a room to teach them tricks. Suddenly women flooded into the room. The boy knew they were witches at once.
