In this
book's world there are four kinds of people. There are the
good Light Witches, Sea Witches, the bad Night Witches, and
regular people. The Light Witches need ice dust to cast
their spells, and the Night Witches need ice dust to make
black dust so they can cast their own spells. The Night
Witches can't touch ice dust because it kills them so they
have servants who touch the ice dust and make their black
dust.
The Night Witches have an evil plan to take over the world. They made flying machines to drop Night Witches off at the Light Witches headquarters. The Light Witches have lost all of their ice dust so the Night Witches can kill them easily.
A girl named Abby who can turn invisible and a boy named Spike who can not feel the difference between warm and cold water, travel with other companions to stop the Night Witches from taking over the world. They journey to the Night Witches headquaters, and kill most of them with ice dust. The Night Witches' plan fails, and the survivors go into hiding.
