The Lion, theWitch,
and the Wardrobe

Peter, Lucy, Edmund,
and Susan are living with a professor in his enormous
house. One day when Lucy was playing hide and seek, she
decided to hide in a strange wardrobe. She found that the
wardrobe was very deep and that it led into a world
called Narnia. After some time in the wardrobe Lucy came
out and told the other children about her adventure in
Narnia. Nobody believed her, and Lucy was
disappointed.

On another day, Edmund went looking in
the wardrobe and ended up in Narnia as well. He found the White Witch
and made friends with her. All the kids eventually got into the
wardrobe, and everyone made amends with Lucy.
In a wood in Narnia, they met a beaver.
The beaver showed them his house and explained the bad news about the
White Witch and about Aslan, the lion, coming to rule again in her
place. He told them that it was their job to help Aslan defeat the
witch. They all set out for the stone table where Aslan was going to
meet them.
On the way, they met Santa Claus. He
gave them each a gift for their journey. Peter got a sword, Susan got
a healing potion, Lucy got a dagger, and Edmund trudged through the
snow with the witch. After that they fought a terrible battle and
won. Aslan went to the stone table, and the two girls followed him.
There were terrible creatures there who did terrible things to Aslan,
but then the stone table cracked and Aslan was all right. Aslan went
and killed the witch, and all the animals that had been turned to
stone became real again. The children became kings and queens. They
fell out of the wardrobe until their next adventure.
