The accusations spread to Ipswich, Andover, and Gloucester, all nearby towns in Massachusetts. Rebecca Nurse, Elizabeth Howe, Sarah Good and two others were tried and convicted of witchcraft. Five convicted women were hung on Gallows Hill.
