Priscilla (Priss) Foster is a little girl who experienced terrible and frightening things when she confessed to being a witch. When Priss was a kid, she had few friends. She wasn't very popular until the day she met Tituba.

One day Priss and a group of girls were walking through the village in Salem and spotted Tituba's open door. Curiously, they stopped in. Ann, the oldest, spotted a book on the table. She ran over, picked it up, and read aloud "Witchcraft, a new way to do .". Tituba interrupted them and told them not to read it. They questioned her about the book and asked if she was a witch. She claimed to know a trick. She grabbed an egg and a glass of water and instructed Priss to drop the egg in the glass. She said it would tell their future. Priss did as she was told and when she dropped the egg in the glass it formed the shape of a coffin. All of the girls screamed and ran out. That was the start of it. That was the start of the witches in Salem. |

After the town heard about the witches, they got scared. Soon they accused everything strange that happened as being bad witchcraft. Priss knew this had to stop. One day she stood up to the judges and the people. She tried to explain about the book. They did not believe her and sent her to jail. In jail she found other witches. Tituba was there, too. One night Tituba talked to her and told her to confess. Months went by, but Priss did not confess. Eventually she began to get scared and told her aunt that she would confess to being a witch. A meeting was arranged. Priss said to the judges, "I did not sign the devil's book, and I shall have no more to do with witchcraft."Soon after that the witch trials ended. |

Even though the girls all split up, the townspeople hated them for the trouble they had caused. Priss was happy to be out of jail. The witch trials was a challenging experience she would never forget.
