There's no Such Thing as a Witch

This book is about a brother and sister, Tad and Nora Cooper. They have a new neighbor next door. Her name is Mrs. Brown. In the beginning they don't really like her. Nora says she's a witch. But of course her mom says there's no such thing as witches. Both Nora and her brother go over to Mrs. Brown's house. She offers Nora some fudge. Nora thinks it is enchanted because after Tad ate one piece of fudge, he was playing with Mrs. Brown's cat, and Tad usually doesn't like cats.

Instead of eating the fudge, Nora brought it home with her. Mr. Cooper, Nora 's dad, ate one piece of fudge when Nora brought it home. He would have taken another piece, but Mrs. Cooper caught him and told not to eat it. He started acting strangely after eating the fudge. He was playing with the dog and letting the dog do what it wanted, like sitting on the couch.

Mrs. Brown had told Nora and Tad not to have more than one piece a day, but Tad snuck another piece. He started acting really weird. He said that the dog talked to him. His mom didn't believe him and punished him for feeding the dog roast beef. At first Nora wasn't sure what was going on, but then she figured it out. If you eat one piece of fudge, you will like animals, if you eat two pieces of fudge, you can understand and talk to animals, if you eat three pieces of fudge, it makes you act like an animal, and if you eat four pieces of fudge, you turn into the animal you are thinking of.

Nora knew if she told her mom, her mom wouldn't believe her. So she and Tad decided to figure out what was going on with Mrs. Brown. When they went to Mrs. Brown's, she admitted she was a witch. When animals started making trouble down at the grocery store, Mrs. Brown and the kids straightened things out by making people like the animals with a little of her fudge. There's No Such Thing as a Witch is a really awesome book. It is full of adventure and really gets your mind working. Take it from me. I read it in a day. If you're in the mood for a little witching around, I would definitely recommend this book to you.
