Economy
- Montana's economy depends a lot on
farming. The things they grow here are: wheat, barley, sugar
beets, and hay. They also have large ranches of beef cattle and
hogs.
- The industry is closely tied to their natural
resources. Industry for the state is: mining, lumber and wood
products, food processing, and tourism. Large mines of coal and
oil are found in the state as well.
- People also mine gold, silver, and copper from
the Rocky Mountains. Sapphires, a gemstone, are found near
Philipsburg.
