Texas
Texas is the second largest state in the United States. It was admitted to the union on December 29, 1845. It's nickname is the "Lone Star State: and friendship is it's motto.
Texas is probably best known for cattle ranching and oil wells. Texas, however, has more farms and farmland than any other state. Cotton is the state's leading crop. Fruits and vegetables are also important.
Texas is the home of the Johnson Space Center, near Houston. It is the center of operations for all manned U.S. space flights.
Texas is the "Lone Star State."
