G stands for games played.That is how many games a player
has played in.
AB stands for at bats.That is how many times a player has
been to the plate.
R stands for runs. That is how many times the player has
crossed home plate and given their team a run.
H stands for hits. This is how many times a player has hit
the ball.
2B stands for doubles. That is how many times a player hits
the ball and has gotten to 2nd base.
3B stands for triples. That is how many times a player has
hit the ball and has gotten to 3rd base.
HR stands for homeruns. That is how many times a player hits
the ball and has gotten all the way to home plate.
RBI stands for Runs batted in. That is how many times a player
has scored another player by either getting walked and scoring
him or by getting a hit and scoring another player.
AVG. stands for batting average. That is the average amount
of times a player hits the ball while at the plate.
