Well here is a lady who has.
I interviewed Ms. Linda Watsky about her experiences with Hurricane Betsy. The conversation between Mrs. Watsky and myself was about the hurricane that hit in 1965. The questions I asked Linda are in italics and her responses follow.
What was your age when hurricane Betsy passed through? “If I remember correctly I was 5 years old and I still remember to this day how horrible it was.”
How did you feel? “I was scared I did not know what to think because I was just a child. I knew that something was not right.”
What is something your family did to prepare for the hurricane? “My family went to the store and got food together. Such as bottled water, flashlights, candles, sandwiches, and chips. They also had pots for leaks in the roof.”
Did your family leave to take shelter somewhere? “Yes, my family did leave to take shelter at a school about 5 miles away from my house. Many people were there to take shelter.”
“What were the winds like when you went outside?” “The winds were very strong and many things got knocked down. It was a very scary day for many people who have not experience hurricanes.”
