Pig Frog

I think frogs are the most awesome creatures.  I bet you’ll think so once you read this!

Frogs are everywhere except Antarctica.  They require moisture so they live in freshwater or in the woods.  When their babies, they have tails.  But they lose it in there adult stage.  Adult frogs have lungs but tadpoles don’t.

Frogs have short neck less bodies and muscular hind legs for jumping.  They have smooth skin with bulging eyes.  Their ear drums stick out on the sides of their heads.  Adult stage frogs have lungs, but tadpoles have gills.  They get food (insects and worms) with their sticky, forked tongue.

Frogs have true voice boxes noted for their various sounds.  Some make irritating poisonous liquid.  Most frogs hibernate underwater and lay eggs. They lay 20,000 eggs at a time.  Tadpoles hatch after 3 to 10 days.  Most finish their metamorphous by the end of their first summer.  Some frogs lay their eggs in trees.  When they hatch, they are tiny frogs.

There are over a dozen of frogs that use the term “true frog.”
