In 1975, my mother was living in Cambodia where she was born.  Then the communists took over.  She took a plane to Minnesota with her brother, older sister, and younger sister as a refugee.
It was hard because she had to learn a whole new language and culture.

In Korea, my dad was training for war, for he did not know when war was ever going to appear. He was walking home and when he got home my mom told my dad that my grandma called. She hasn't seen her for a while, and with grandpa gone, my grandma was very lonely. Mom said to go and visit for a while. My sister was only three and it was pretty hard to get tickets for a plane. My parents were very poor back then. They had to borrow money from my dad's sister and they finally got tickets. Two days after my mom got pains in her stomach. My dad was worried and he prayed for their safety. They got on the plane and it took two days to get there. When they got there my mom got pains in her stomach again.  My grandma met them at the airport and went to my grandma's house. It was scary for my sister and my parents. They were not used to the new stores and places. It was a week when they left from Korea and they were getting used to this new place they were afraid  a week ago. My mom was getting more pains and she went to the doctors. She found out she was pregnant, and kept getting pains until, one day she was going to have me. They decided to just live in America. My mom had me and  moved in a nice house, with my grandma's help and lived a good but hard life
