Laura Ingalls Wilder started writing her series of books in 1932. Laura was 63 when she started writing her books. When Laura was in her fifties she started writing down her childhood memories with the help of her daughter, Rose. Rose helped Laura by telling her to write about her life. Rose was so interested in what her mother’s stories were about she wanted other children and grown-ups to enjoy her mother’s stories just like Rose did. When Laura was writing her books, she had no idea she was writing history. She had no idea her books and herself would be a huge success in the future. Laura preserved her father’s memories by remembering his fun and exciting memories.
