Time |
In the Middle Ages some people wore folding sticks on the bottom of their shoe. A sundial was carved into the bottom of their shoe. When someone wanted to know the time they would take off their shoe and fold the stick up and the sun will show the time, like a smaller sun dial. Later they were made to fit on their wrist, like a watch.
Sometimes to tell time, people in the village would listen for the church bells that rang for different prayer times.
