Clothes

In the Middle Ages, peasants made their own clothes. They were often made of wool. The girls wore dresses with long sleeves. Boys wore leggings or trousers and a smock or tunic. Wealthier men wore tunics and loose pants called breeches. Sometimes they wore sleeveless capes called surcoats. Women wore longer tunics like a loose dress.

To clean their clothes they shook, brushed, or laid them in the sun or and sprinkled nice smelling herbs on them.
