BOMBING
On April,19 1995 9:03 A.M. at the Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City,a bomb was so big it blew up half of the nine story building. It also took two weeks to find all the people. The FBI concluded 168 people were dead, and the police pulled over 27 year old Timothy Mcveigh for driving without a liscense plate. On April 25 ,when he was about to be released he was charged with the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building. Perry Nichols an accomplice of Timothy Mcveigh voluntarily confessed to the bombing. He was later brought to the station for questioning. Timothy Mcveigh was later executed on May 2001.
But
the good that came out of this disaster was that the Oklahoma City
National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terriorism was
established. This Institute is dedicated to preventing and reducing
terrorism.
