Hindenberg Disaster

The Hindenberg was a German airship, similar to a blimp. It was carrying 70 passengers to the United States from Germany when is crashed at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6, 1937.

The Hindenberg was so large it had staterooms the size of hotel rooms. The airship was built by Adolf Hitler . When it exploded, people began to ask questions about why it burned, but no one really knows the answer. Most people think that one of the bags of chemicals exploded taking the whole blimp with it and killing 37 of the 70 passengers inside the blimp.

But the good thing about this disaster is that it warned us about dangerous chemicals and other important information.
