A truly horrible tragedy on February 1, 2003 similar to the challenger the Columbia was a space shuttle.
unlike the Challenger the Columbia crashed on the way back instead of on the way up. Just sixteen minutes away landing and the Lyndon S. Johnson landing site when something went horribly wrong. after losing communications with missile control they feared for the worst . The shuttle then broke apart in the upper atmosphere with the shuttle parts and human remains being found in parts of Texas and Louisiana on sunday February 2, 2003. while in the midst of this tragedy NASA vowes to continue it's space exploration as soon as they find ways to prevent the tragedy from happening again.
But
the good thing about this disaster is that it will cause NASA to look
at the age of their space shuttles and update the technology used by
the space program.
