Fables

A fable is a short dramatic tale, often with animal characters, that point to a clear lesson. The lesson is often stated at the end, where it takes the form of a proverb: a short memorable statement of advice or an observation about human nature. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." Examples are:

  • The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse
  • The Fox and the Grapes
  • The Lion and the Mouse
