Who were they?
Knights Crusaders- Nobleman who wanted to take over the Holy land from Turkey (crusader comes from the word CRUX which means CROSS)
Nuns - Religious women devoted their lived to church to save their soul. Often, this was the way out of poverty
Serfs - Serfs did not own anything. They lived on noble's land, had no freedom, and worked on the land. In return they received protection.
Shepherds - they tended sheep of the manor.
Noblewomen- they were the ladies of the castle. They supervised servants and upbringing of children. They often had skills such as making medicine. They sometimes helped the poor.
Monks - they took vows of obedience and poverty. They wanted to save their souls and were usually educated.
Pilgrims - Christian travelers who made their way to the Holy Land to receive special blessings and visit the place where Jesus was born.
Troubadours- They sang songs of love between knights and ladies.
Bishops - they were noblemen of the church. It
