The Last Battle
Story
King Arthur defeated many enemies early in his life and united people of Britain. However, some of the knights of the Round Table grew disloyal to him. Sir Mordred, one of the knights, longed to rule England in Arthur's place.
The other knight was Lancelot.Queen Guinevere was living in Lancelot's castle. Arthur was not eager to attack Lancelot's castle, but he was urged to do so by Sir Gawaine. In the middle of the battle, Sir Bors struck Arthur off his horse. Before he could strike the fatal blow with his sword, Lancelot stopped him! "My King" he declared "let us call a truce and stop this war!Take your queen back to Camelot. I will leave and never come back unless you need me". Arthur agreed.
Soon after, Arthur left for France, and Sir Mordred seized the throne of Britain. He told people that Arthur was killed in battle. Then he demanded Guinevere marry him. She secretly got word to Arthur, and a bloody battle began. Sir Gawain was killed and upon his death bed he wrote to Lancelot and told him Arthur needed him.
In the next battle Sir Mordred was killed by Arthur, but Arthur was badly wounded. Arthur asked to be taken to the Lady of the Lake. There Excalibur was thrown and a hand rose up from the water to catch it!
King Arthur asked Sir Bedivere to take him to the water's edge. A beautiful ship was waiting there. In the ship there were three queens who welcome Arthur.
Lancelot arrived to find Guinevere a nun and Arthur gone! And so the story of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table comes to
THE END.
But, even today many still think Arthur is alive somewhere....
