Burrowing Owl

The burrowing owl is one of the small owls in its family.
It is about 8'' tall. It also has bare legs and it doesn't have any ear tuffs like most other owls. When it is adult the owl is a dusty brown with particular white markings on its belly. The young owls are brown on the back, head and wings. Their belly and chest are both white. They start molting when they go through their first summer. Then they get their adult plumage. It lives in Canada , the United States, Mexico
