Gertrude Candler Warner was born in 1890, in Putnam, Connecticut and lived there until she died in 1979. When she was a little girl she watched trains go by for hours opposite of here family’s house. When she received requests for more adventures involving Henry, Benny, Jessie and Violet Alden. She began to write additional stories. She never thought of them as juvenile mysteries. During her years Miss Warner received hundreds of letters from girls and boys saying how much they like her books. I hope you do too!

A rumor is out that they are closing and won’t take any more animals. They find out that the cats belongs to Mrs. Newcome, but there is a big sign on her gate that says “No Trespassing”. The rumor becomes true and the Alden’s volunteer to use their boxcar to store pets. When is Mrs. Newcome and why are the people closing the shelter down?
The Blue Bay Mystery
Henry, Jesse, Violet, and Benny go to Blue Bay in the South Seas. When they get there the kids hear moaning and whining sounds. Mike, their cousin, sees a button and keeps it. He also finds a turtle shell to use for a tea kettle. The kids see a Myna bird who talks! Strange things are going on at Blue Bay. To figure out who is behind all this, you should read the book!
I really enjoyed reading the series of books. My favorite book was the Amusement Park because I could see all the scenes happening in my mind. This title is fitting for this book because it was definitely Amusing! I enjoyed these books because they were interesting and had a good solution to the problem. I highly suggest that you give these books a try! If you like mysteries I am sure you will like these too!
