When a particle comes into the nacre oyster-forming mollusk, the mollusk or oyster covers the particle with nacre. The particle is trapped in the layers of nacre. This is how the pearl is formed.
Historically,
the best pearl come from the Persian Gulf. The biggest stock of natural pearls
resides in India. One of the first countries to start farming pearls was Japan.
The largest and finest pearls are produced in Burma’s pearl farms.
