Opals can be found in Australia, China, and North America.  Opals are so radiant and expel light in such a manner that when you are on top of a mountain and you see a flashing Opal, you feel like you have just found a million dollars.

Hot, mineral-rich watery ooze seeped into the cracks in rocks a very long time ago.  This watery substance and rock mixture hardened into the beautiful opal stones.  Still in most Opals a time bit of liquid remains inside the opal.  You can see this most clearly in a Black Opal.

One of the myths that are part of the opal’s history is that people though wearing an opal would make them invisible. They thought that the gem’s color would dim onlookers’ eyes.
