Don’t you love rubies? Do they cost too much? If you love rubies you may enjoy garnet. On this web page you will learn the history, value, legends and popularity of garnet. Keep reading and you’ll be a garnet wiz!

Garnet is considered a “ rainbow of gems.” Most people are familiar with the pink-red to brown-red colors of rhodolite garnet. Garnet is found in every color with the exception of blue.

Garnets can be found almost anywhere in the world. Garnets can be found in many states including: Arizona, California, Idaho, Maine, Montana, and New Mexico. They also can be found in India, parts of the Soviet Union, and Brazil.

Garnet has been named the gem of faith, constancy, and truth. Asiatic tribes carved garnets into bullets. In the 1890s warriors in India fired garnets as bullets from guns, mistakenly thinking the gem’s redness would cause bloodier wounds. Also, garnets were sometimes ground into powders to treat fevers.

Garnet is a special gemstone. It is very old and has been treasured by many. In my opinion garnet is a beautiful stone. The garnet is not that popular but every now and then you will see someone wearing a garnet necklace, earring, or maybe a ring. I love garnet, how about you ?
