The
Brachiosaurus’ nickname is “great arms” because of its unusually long
front arms. Brachiosaurus was the
tallest of all the dinosaurs. He
was approximately 50 feet tall, 70 feet head to tall and weighed about 33 – 88
tons.
The
Brachiosaurus lived in western USA and eastern Africa (Tanzania).
Brachiosaurus lived on the land near swampy areas.
The Brachiosaurus was a peaceful creature that lived in herds. When food supplies ran low, the Brachiosaurus moved to a new location. When “migrating”, sometimes they would have to leave the injured and sick behind because they would slow them down.
Brachiosaurus’ skeleton was found in Colorado in 1900. It is estimated that Brachiosaurus lived 145 – 156 million years ago flourishing in the late Jurassic Period in the Mesozoic Era (Age of the Reptiles) same time as the Allosaurus.
