Grassroots: Key to Victory

Volunteer work is an important part of elections. They do writing, make posters, and help with commercials, which are important parts of encouraging people to vote. They also register voters, write personalized letters, do copying, answer phone calls, run errands, make food, drive cars, help with speech-writing, do research, and bring senior citizens to election-day polls. Some reasons people volunteer are they believe very strongly in the campaign and think it would be a good way to meet people and become active in the community. Sometimes, volunteers can get important jobs in elections. There are volunteers of all ages.
